National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management is the Indian response to challenges of agricultural extension in a rapidly growing and diverse agriculture sector. The policies of liberalization and globalization of the economy and the level of agricultural technology becoming more sophisticated and complex, called for major initiatives towards reorientation and modernization of the agricultural extension system. Effective ways of managing the extension system needed to be evolved and extension organizations enabled to transform the existing set up through professional guidance and training of critical manpower. Considering this massive need, MANAGE has launched Massive Open Online Courses called MANAGE Extension MOOCs.

MANAGE Extension MOOCs is an online platform designed to train senior and middle level agricultural extension functionaries, students and other stake holders to acquire and enhance knowledge and skills in the agriculture extension domain. The platform provides free access to numerous high quality courses online offered by renowned faculty from the premier institutes of the country. The intent is to reach out to large number of learners through these MOOCs thus enabling them to access higher agricultural education. This platform has been customised by Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur for MANAGE MOOCs.
